While on a short local road trip, we stopped at the a few forts in Illinois. Fort Kaskaskia is a park like settings with information boards and gives you the ability to walk and over look out over the river and see Beaver Island and where the fort used to sit. Since we were visiting in the fall, there were several trees turning and showing their golden leaves.
