I have been visiting the Lincoln Memorial on every trip that I have made to Washington DC and I’ve been going there since 1996. The sunrise and sunset hours are wonderful to sit and absorb the beauty, light and the solemness. My family has a long history of serving in the military history going back to the Revolutionary War, so sitting at each of these memorials is a great memory for me. In the early mornings it is also very quiet before the tourist start arriving. At sunset, sitting on the steps and watching the evening light illuminate the Washington monument in the reflecting pool is amazing. In the winter, with snow on the ground and the lighting of the early morning light is gorgeous. Enjoy
