This was part of our Civil War Sites road trip. It was also the one where we had to work around 10″ of snow at Gettysburg! Visiting these sights and studying the history is a solemn experience. I had many relatives who fought in the Civil War throughout the Midwest region of the country and have read some of the mail from them and what they were enduring. It is also amazing that our country has set aside these lands to remind us of sacrifices made.
