We attend various Astronomy Star Parties around the country over the years. A star party is where many amateur and profession astronomers come together under really dark skies and observe the stars, galaxies, nebula and have a great time together. One of favorites in the past was the Twin Lakes Star Party. Everyone always had a great.
Yep, that really tall object next to me is a 20″ F/5 telescope. I sold that back in 2013ish and purchased a 22″ telescope. It really shows the galaxies!
