We visited Clayville Historic Site while camped at Jim Edgar Pather Creek State Park. This is a former roadside hamlet from 1824 to the 1950s. Located near Pleasant Plains. When we visited there were some young adults giving the tours of the home and they gave us excellent history of the community. One tour guide’s family has been very involved in the restoration and care since they are descendants of a family there. They also have other buildings, which some were open for us and also the main large structure houses a small museum but lots of tables and room for meeting, teaching, activities. There was a school bus of kids there when we were and it was great getting to see how involved they were. Enjooy
