St. Louis, MO (Nov, 2019)
This weekend we were off to see some pelicans that were migrating through the area. Our goal was to head to the Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary up by the bridge between St. Louis and Alton, IL over the Mississippi, but due to miles of traffic backup on I44, we took a long back road route which took us also to Pelican Island. Now, since it’s named Pelican Island I hoped we’d have a chance to see some pelicans there, but no luck. It is a beautiful place and has been hit hard by the floods but it is a wonderful park to visit. We had the pleasure of visiting with a lady named Tina who was there taking some pictures and enjoying the sounds and beauty. She is a writer and loves to visit this park to re energize her spirit. We had a lot in common with her.
Here are a few pictures down by the Mississippi river and the island.
